Rebecca Fredman, CNP, AGNP-C, is board certified Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Ione Medical in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Rebecca completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Vermont, and has since dedicated her career to providing compassionate, patient centered care to people from all walks of life. She also recently earned the designation of Menopause Society Certified Practitioner through the North American Menopause Society.

Rebecca has worked primarily in women's health, and has pursued specialized training in menopausal hormone therapy, gender affirming hormone therapy, and bariatric (weight loss) medicine. She noticed early in her career that it was difficult to fully address patient concerns related to perimenopause, menopause, and weight loss within the confines of a typical high volume medical setting. She also noticed a significant lack of providers available to adequately address the needs of transgender and gender non-confirming individuals, even though protocols for gender affirming hormone therapy are well established, and very accessible to medical providers. These observations led Rebecca to increasingly envision a medical setting where patients could develop a close and ongoing relationship with their provider to holistically address these complex issues in a safe and ongoing manner. This is what led her to establish Ione Medical.

Rebecca's clinical interest in the treatment of overweight, obesity, and menopausal weight gain continues to grow. She is passionate about integrating the latest evidence based practices and technologies to help patients actualize their weight loss goals. In addition to helping patients with weight loss, Rebecca is a person who's had a significant weight loss herself, so she deeply understands what it is like for someone to feel uncomfortable in their own body, and to feel alone and lost even in just knowing where to start. She knows that weight loss is complex, and programs for weight loss need be individualized, and require ongoing and nonjudgemental management.

Rebecca also has significant clinical interest and experience in the pharmacologic management of depression and anxiety, and strongly believes that excellent mental health is a key component of physical health.

In addition to her clinical practice, Rebecca is an active member of the North American Menopause Society and the Obesity Medicine Association. A Native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, she enjoys all the adventures that the Land of Enchantment has to offer with her husband, two daughters, and two miniature dachshunds.
